PJA Roadside Camera Station

The PJA Roadside Camera Station is a high-end protected stand alone solar powered and internet connected community traffic monitoring system that can be linked to a 24/7 control room as well as to the national Snipr Network to identify stolen and suspicious vehicles driving in your precinct, as well as to identify vehicles with falsified numberplates, and to monitor freight carried on the back of bakkies and trucks, as well as to monitor for veld fires in the area.

The Snipr Network consists of over 4 000 connected cameras across South Africa (and growing) that automatically analyses and monitors millions of vehicles daily, and automatically alerts on the detection of suspicious and stolen vehicles, as well as vehicles with falsified numberplates (if the same numberplate passes two different cameras in different locations where the time frame for a vehicle to cover such a distance is impossible, an alert is created).

Furthermore, this roadside system can monitor the vehicles used in your precinct (farmers' vehicles) and create an alert whenever unknown vehicles enter your precinct.

Farmers can log into the network themselves and view camera footage if they so desire.

The PJA Roadside Camera System includes the following items:

6m High post with extension arm,

Solar Power & Battery system matched to system load,

IP-link system to connect to the network,

1 x ANPR (Automatic Numberplate Recognition) camera (reading vehicles in both directions -lanes, day and night)

1 x Overview camera (to view freight on the back of bakkies and trucks),

1 x PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) dome camera to monitor 360 degrees around the station and to monitor for smoke of fires in the area. This camera also has bi-directional audible communication with a person standing at the station.

1 x Station alarm system that creates an audible (siren) and visual (strobe light) alarm if a person comes within a radius of 2 m to the post, which is linked to a 24/7 control room that instantly receives the signal, and which automatically resets and arm again. This is to prevent vandalism to or theft of station equipment,

1 x Installation

This system has been implemented with great success in safeguarding farming districts where all access routes to the district is monitored 24/7.

Additional security in the form of a long range (1 km) night vision PTZ camera can be added to the station to monitor for people and animal movement in the fields around the stations. Daytime view is up to 3 km, 360 degrees around the station. This camera can be linked to intelligent IA driven software to alarm on the detection of humans and vehicles only, whilst excluding animals.

A monthly fee is payable on the linkup of the system, with special rates to farming communities by PJA Technologies. However, the system can be linked and monitored by any service provider of choice, or directly by farming organizations who possess over control room facilities and personnel.
